Initiatives such as cloud computing, BYOD and many more are challenging users to rethink everything from security to network architecture. Since most IT teams are staffed to keep critical business systems running and tackle one or two special projects per year – they simply can’t keep up with this pace.

With increasing frequency, customers are turning to vendor partners to help them with the project backlog. And over the last six months, we’ve seen a dramatic upswing in the number of requests for services related to our product offerings. These requests may be something as simple as installing and configuring a product for turnkey implementation or they may involve customizing a product to suit a specific business need. Along with improving our current products, one of Sherpa Software’s focal points for 2013 is to offer a broader range of solutions to our customers. While some details around these offerings are still in development, the intent is to combine products and professional services into solution packages that fall into three broad categories:

Product Services – Consulting services to help customers understand all of the capabilities that a product offers and how they may be used to maximum advantage. Performing product installations or version upgrades. Developing custom product features that help customers solve their business problems. Delivering customized application training to meet specific needs.

Partner Services – Working cooperatively with business partners who have a specific competency. We are currently working with partners to package solutions for; email migration and litigation preparedness.

Point Services – Integrating Sherpa technology into partner products to deliver an enhanced experience.

In support of this solutions strategy I will be transitioning into the role of Solutions Architect to work with our sales team and partners as we formulate and deliver new offerings. Please watch our web site for more details or contact me ( if you have questions about our solutions or suggestions for offerings that you would like to see.
