The 58th annual installment of the ARMA Conference and Expo recently wrapped up. It’s hard to imagine not coming away with a wealth of knowledge and information– and since this year’s show was held in fabulous Las Vegas, that might be the only wealth anyone has left!

Post-front

This year marked the first for Sherpa Software as an exhibitor. Our staff helped contribute to the impressive turnout of 823 exhibit personnel and 2,027 professional attendees.

The ARMA Conference and Expo is always packed with great educational content, and this year’s sessions didn’t disappoint. Most of these sessions are recorded and available at http://www.arma.org/Conference/2013/LasVegas.aspx. Each skill-level series (Core, Management, and Strategic) has at least 15 web seminars covering a wide range of topics. Many of these professional attendees stopped by the Sherpa booth for a KISS (7 oz. Hershey Chocolate variety) and to discuss their information governance needs. We collected more than 250 surveys that will help us better understand the challenges facing the Records Management community. We also exchanged insight and perspectives with Legal, RIM, IT and other compliance/governance professionals from industries including energy and utilities, government, healthcare, insurance, finance and legal.

As first time participants, we were very happy with our ARMA Conference and Expo experience and are very excited about next year’s event scheduled for San Diego, California. Thanks to all the ARMA personnel and staff for organizing a wonderful show, and thanks to all the attendees we had the pleasure of meeting. We welcome the opportunity to stay in touch and continue to talk about the records management and information governance landscape. Feel free to reach out to us on social media or via our web site at sherpasoftware.com. And remember, Keep It Sherpa Simple!
