ISACA's Security Conference Exceeds Attendance Expectations

On Monday, December 9th, Pittsburgh celebrated “Information Security Awareness Day” with the ISACA Conference. This is the premier educational event for Information Systems Audit and Information Security professionals in the Western Pennsylvania area with a chapter membership of over 600 professionals.

Sherpa Software was fortunate to participate in the event this year as a Silver Sponsor, where we discussed the growing trends within the industry and provided insights in what’s to come.

“Pittsburgh has really grown into a credible and well-established area for technical and security professionals,” said Rick Wilson, VP of Strategy & Solutions at Sherpa Software. “Seeing firsthand the excitement and energy at the ISACA event was extremely inspiring and proved that organizations want ongoing education for their employees and to stay up-to-speed with technology advancements.”

Brian Krebs, investigative security reporter, led the keynote session where he discussed organized cybercrime and the rise and fall of the digital mafia. An additional 12 sessions were offered to attendees plus CPE credits. More than 500 regional security professionals attended this year, which surpasses the 300 attendance record from last year.

Clearly, with numbers like these, infosecurity awareness is more than just a day – it’s a top priority with no end in sight. Read more about the event and organization here:
