Microsoft’s fiscal year started on July 1 and it appears that it is going to be a banner one for the software giant. With new releases in virtually every product category, the Surface hardware launch and major cloud initiatives being announced – partners like Sherpa Software are scrambling just to keep up! With that in mind, we are eagerly anticipating the Microsoft Exchange Conference (MEC) which starts on September 23rd in Orlando, FL.

After a ten year hiatus, Microsoft has revived MEC as a forum to showcase the upcoming release of both Exchange 2013 and Office 2013. Sherpa is pleased to be participating in the show as an exhibitor and our technical team is looking forward to attending the product sessions being presented by Exchange team insiders like Perry Clarke. Events like MEC offer us a unique opportunity to engage with the professionals who use Sherpa’s email management solutions on a daily basis. As a customer driven company, the chance to gather first-hand feedback is an important component in formulating our product road-map strategy.

The Sherpa team has already started working with Microsoft’s Office preview to make sure Outlook 2013 is compatible with the MAPI access methods used in many of our products. Soon after returning from MEC, we will begin certifying our whole suite of solutions for Exchange 2013. We want to ensure our products are ready for customers who plan to adopt the new platform next year. As mentioned in previous posts, we are also integrating support for the Microsoft 365 cloud into both our Discovery and Mail Attender products. If you plan on attending MEC, please stop by and see us at kiosk 11. We welcome the opportunity to hear your feedback on our products. If you can’t make it to Orlando, many of the sessions will be recorded and available online.
